Description

I couldn't resist bringing Prince in as my first Morgan. He is based entirely off of the actual horse other than that the real deal is no longer a stallion and I have no clue as to what his color genetic markers are.

Name: GoGo Prince Cobra
Barn Name: Prince
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Morgan
Registration: AMHA
Age: 12, foaled 1997
Height: 15.3 hh
Color: Bay
Markings: Left fore pastern, few white hairs on forehead
Discipline: Contesting (western gaming like barrels and keyhole), novice level reining
Passible Traits: EE/AA, some possibility of passing on a naturally wavy mane and/or tail
Sire/Dam: Burton Talkeetna X Telizas Black Beauty
Bloodlines: N/A
Temperament: Flighty and at times inconsistent, Prince is still high strung at his age, though he has mellowed considerably since he first came to the ranch. He is also an attention seeking brat/love bug and goes out of his way to get affection from anyone within reach. Prince is very much a one person type of horse when rode and will always perform a little bit better and be a little braver for that one person. He has had a long standing fear of water in all forms from puddles to spray bottles. Slowly he is getting over the fear and is currently mostly accepting of approaching standing water, hoses are still iffy.

History: Prince has had at least two owners before coming to Twin Peaks and most information about his training prior to arrival was unknown other than that he was at least green broke to ride and one owner claimed he had some ground driving experience. When Prince was being transported to his previous owner his trailer was involved in an accident. While he was not injured and the trailer itself was untouched, we believe that it was the cause of our past problems with working him in enclosed spaces.

There was some confusion over what in the world Prince should be trained for since he was far too energetic for typical ranch work. By chance one of the workers discovered that, while he had a fear of many things, big, bright blue barrels were not one of them. In fact, he loved them and delighted in tumping them over and rolling them about. The ranch owner gave the go ahead and had Prince patterned in barrels and poles, adding in new types of gaming classes once he was running consistently in the first two. A few years down the road low level reining was added to his resume in a bid to focus him on something completely different to keep him active and thinking while still playing to his strengths.

For stud/lease: Permanently closed. Horse is retired.
