Gulliver by SnowglobeDragon Gulliver by SnowglobeDragon
And I'm done. After dragging my heels over doing touch-ups on him, Gully is done. glittered and glossed. He may be the last one I get done before Breyerfest. I'm trying my darnedest to finish the Flash custom, but I haven't reached the sabino roaning on her yet so I'm not sure how much that will slow things down. She may show half finished as just a solid minimal sabino to be finished later if time runs out and her base coat looks smooth enough for it :plotting:

He's a good conversation starter, not too many horses at model shows have extra eyes :D

Thanks :) Unfortunately, no, I can't predict my schedule more than a week or two in advance right now and I'm horrible at keeping art type deadlines DX

Isn't he your original character you created?  He is super cute, and I'm in love with the little guy!

Yes, he is. He muscled his way in and took over what was suppose to be the solid colored Stormy I always wanted and Breyer refuses to make :)

Stormy?  Misty of Chincoteague Stormy?  I feel stupid, but I have to ask. xD

Yes, poor girl has never been released in a solid color unless there is a test run somewhere out there.

Alsike would probably happily eat Gully, glare and all, if he wasn't already too big to fit on the shelf Gully is on :D

Thank you. He went and did pretty well :). I go to the fest every year, though I use to show the Stone show instead of Breyer's. Breyer is more competitive, but you don't get bum rushed out of the show hall at the end of the day because a wedding party is waiting on it.

Nice, congrats on him doing well! I know I didn't show any models, waay to competitive and I didn't quite understand all of it, but I loved seeing all the models decked out and shown.

Breyerfest is known to be some of the fiercest competition in model showing and not a good place to try showing for the first time, especially not the youth show apparently :(. I wouldn't suggest starting there if you ever decide to try showing. But, if you like checking out the tables full of models most showers are more than happy to have non-showers enjoying their herd too :)

Oh man, sounds intense. I usually just checked out the tables of other peoples models, all of them so pretty. I probably won't show, since I love having the models out of the boxes (and they get played with/broken all the time, so they're not in the best condition)

Thanks :) I now have a character model for when his wonky mouth stumps me :D He's the first of my characters I've attempted (not counting a half serious stab at Alsike in which a model was nearly melted...) and he wouldn't have happened if the original model had agreed to be a normal color XD I guess grabbing a model and seeing if it says any particular character to you is the best way to start.

Of course! He sure turned out perfect from every angle, at least from my perspective :>

That is really good advice, I'll keep it in mind. Though given what kind of models I have available in my country, it probably best I start one from scratch XD

It might be easier from scratch, especially if you want to change everything about a model. In that case whatever models are available cheap are good for testing new colors on to avoid having to re-primer the good model :).

Well, I may have already tested the painting skills on existing models (made in china, cheap ones) XD so that's the part I'm least worried of at the moment.

Great thing about re-sculpting is that if you mess up you can hack away all the parts you don't like and try again :mwahaha: Though, starting small with just one or two small changes is a good idea.

You can do it. What you don't see behind the scenes is years worth of nail polish, glitter, and anatomically impossible customs that led to this point :)
