Because shiny things are fun
So are glowing eyes and demonic horses. If Alsike looks a lot like Sanguinary that's a good thing. Alsike was the name I had for Sang's Grandsire in his family tree/back story. For HARPG purposes he's a nightmare since I don't have the urge to breed Each Uisge characters any time soon. Other than the breed specific points that had to be followed he's the same Alsike I imagined he'd be once I got around to drawing him up.

Breed: Pure Disturbed Nightmare
Gender: Stallion
Age: A young 600 give or take a handful of decades.
Height: Unknown, no one has ever managed to get a measuring stick close enough. Believed to be around 17 hh.
Body: Dark Grey-brown similar to Taupe
Eyes Red, the slit is a false pupil while the white, sun spot over it is the true pupil.
Mouth The gums and tongue are a vibrant Cyan that contrast so well with the Yellow-orange teeth that the two colors seem to vibrate against each other. At the far back corners of the mouth are thin membranes that keep the jaw from completely unhinging when he opens wide. He has a particularly long tongue and it is often seen writhing about his muzzle as he finds it annoying to constantly keep it coiled up within his mouth. The most common position for it currently is poking out on the right side, where there is a gap in his teeth from having one knocked out that has not yet grown back, and from there it wraps across his nasal bridge for safe keeping.
Bile, almost clear in color, drips slowly from his jaws and is not so much poisonous as it is septic. His bite behaves much in the same way as that of a komodo dragon, once he has bitten and broke the skin he can follow at his own pace until the prey has weakened under the influence of the high bacteria levels in his saliva.
Mane/Tail The same as the body color tipped in red.
Feathers They are the element of fire and stream about the cannon bones like tinsel starting out a cool red and becoming a hotter blue flame at the tips.
Markings His markings are hard to see unless under a good light source. They are a handful of shades darker than his coat and trace a path over his ribs.
Piercings: At one time Alsike had a multitude of piercings bridging the left side of his mouth, but on a whim he ripped them out. Now all that remains are the scars where the metal was yanked off forcefully. The one right under his left nostril is so deep that it can no longer cover his canine creating a mild snaggle tooth.
Orbs:
Cyan- Much like a corpse light, the cyan orb entrances and befuddles. It charms the prey into a trance-like state and leads them on into certain death just as will-o-wisps have lured travelers into bottomless swamps in centuries past.
Dense Black- The mist of the black orb is so thick that it reflects most color and often appears to have a reddish cast due to the glow given off by Alsike. It is a miasma that chokes the victim in a curtain of generalized anxiety. The longer one is under the oppressive affects the worse the symptoms grow and in some cases he has been known to continue using the orb until their heart rate increases to the point of collapse just for the sport of it. Most experience the feeling of being watched, hallucinations, increased vital signs, and other signs of acute paranoia.
Red-Orange- When he's in the mood to see things burn Alsike whips out the orange orb. As his main element is fire he is quite a gifted Pyrokinetic. The higher his emotions rise the greater the area that he can affect becomes. Under the specific conditions and given enough material to torch he is capable of creating a localized fire storm that can be incredibly beautiful if you are not caught on the inside.
Discipline: Anything you can convince him to cooperate in long enough. He can be very fussy about the tack he allows to be strapped on and normally will only agree to English gear for the sole fact that there is no horn to grab onto should he decide in the middle of a class that he just doesn't feel like letting you keep riding. The easiest events to get him to go along for are those that involve speed and/or very little time spent with all four feet on the ground. When he's being unusually accommodating he is a passable cross country and steeple chasing mount.

Bloodlines: N/A Presumed to be related to Disturbia in some way since he is a pure disturbed, though this has never been satisfactorily proven.
Temperament: Our boy has a highly Machiavellian personality in which the end will always justify the means regardless of how many he has to ruin in order to get there. He his firmly convinced that allies are there for the convenience of being walked over to reach the goal. His cruelty is that of a child that has never learned it is wrong to rip a bird's wing off just to see if it will only be able to fly in circles. While he may realize that what he does on a day to day basis is wrong he displays Antisocial Personality traits such as apathy toward most things, a severe lack of sympathy toward others, and a rampant disregard for rules and conventions that govern the rest of the world. Often he will hurt other living things purely for sport with no intention of feeding on them once he is done.
He is known for breeding well outside of his race, even outside his species when it comes right down to it. We can only assume that this is because he prefers to be the only bully in the relationship and the best way to guarantee that his partner will be cowed by him is to seek one that doesn't have the foul personality rampant within his breed.
History: Alsike is an old world nightmare hailing from the coast of Ireland. What we can tell from the little he has said about himself is that he came into existence sometime in the early 15th century shortly after King Richard II came to Dublin in 1394. In the time since then he enjoyed a long period of time in which he was feared and nearly worshiped as one of the fey creatures that also inhabited his homeland though he had no really meaningful contact with fairies and for the most part they shared a mutual distaste for each other.
On good days he claims to have living family, but when asked directly about them he denies this and feigns deafness until the subject is either dropped, or he does something more physical to remove the annoyance.
Other: Alsike's name comes form Alsike Clover, a plant that, ironically, has long been known to be toxic to equines. It is thought that whoever stuck around long enough to name him had a warped and apt sense of humor since coming in contact with Alsike can lead to a toxic relationship that is hardly good for your health.
