*EDIT* Ahaha, I feel kind of silly for not finishing this. The horse has been done for months already and been to shows twice and yet I never edited the progress pictures and wrote out the rest of the tutorial XD. That's done now other than one more installment. I'll get some pictures of the final model over the weekend if the weather cooperates and finish this off.


I've been chomping at the bit to get this guy started on the coloring phase. He looked like an easy custom job that would breeze through re-sculpting since I wasn't changing much. Then the primer ran out and the craft store was waiting on a new shipment :XD:. But he's ready now and since I'm documenting this for myself I'll be sharing as I go along. This ought to be fun, it's my first time doing a grey with some color to it and the first time using Rembrandt brand pastels (which are very nice so far) :).

What do you use to lighten areas? In my experience, you can't go lighter with pastels, you have to start light and work darker and lighter colors won't show up. Did you just have to build up a ton of layers?
